COVID-19 Update for Purpose
3/30/20
Dear Purpose Families and Clients,
In light of the continued circumstances across the globe, as well as, additional guidance from state and national providers, Purpose Coaching will shift to offering only remote, tele-coaching sessions for all appointments during the next two weeks (3/30-4/12), and possibly longer, if needed. Therefore, until further notice, in-person sessions will not be provided. A follow-up statement will be made by Sunday, April 12th regarding plans after these two weeks.
For individual appointments, Purpose Coaching will offer video (or phone) sessions for all clients during this time. Please notify me (contact information below) as soon as possible if you would like to schedule a video or phone session for your upcoming appointment(s). If you are not comfortable with video or phone sessions at this time and wish to cancel or reschedule, please let me know so I can check in about the best way for you to get support during this time.
For all online sessions, please find (or help your son or daughter find) a quiet, private, distraction-free space with a laptop, tablet, or phone that has a camera. I also encourage families to give their adolescent space to ensure confidentiality between therapist and client. This can be different for younger clients and will take some time for everyone to get used to it. However, please know that I am here to make this temporary transition as smooth as possible.
I will be using a HIPAA compliant platform called doxy.me for all of our online sessions. Here is the link to my virtual waiting room: https://doxy.me/purposecoachben
Moving to remote sessions was not an easy decision to make, as you all know that I truly value the importance of human connection and the preference of meeting with you each in person. However, your wellbeing and safety (and that of myself and my own family) are my first priorities, and I believe that it is my responsibility, to make important ethical decisions like this in light of those values. Although our daily lives are being significantly impacted by the current happenings, I am also grateful to the local schools and community businesses & organizations for making related, socially responsible decisions within the past few weeks, which continue to serve as important models for all of us.
We are all experiencing a range of responses and emotions to this global pandemic. Social isolation can feel challenging and painful, and I very much want to connect with all of my clients, so no one feels alone. I promise that, even if we are meeting over the phone or through a screen, I am here to support you and connect with you. I encourage you all to find ways to continue caring for yourselves and connecting with others even while things are challenging.
Please let me know what questions or concerns you have.
Be well,
--
